Pier & Foreshore Seasonal Work

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside……Female staff member stood outside First Aid hut on Southend seafront

SEPS are thrilled to announce we have provided support to our partner, Southend on Sea City Council, over the summer period for their Pier and Foreshore services.

Members of our team were located at the Slipways at Two Tree Island and Ness Road, ensuring users had the necessary paperwork and qualifications required to gain access.

We also provided first aid assistance from the Beach Welfare Office, located next to the water fountains on the seafront.

SEPS commenced this contract at the end of May and are proud to continue to support the work of the Council, ensuring that Southend continues to be a safe, vibrant and enjoyable City to visit – whether you are on a stand-up paddle board discovering the nooks and crannies of Two Tree Island or making a splash whilst having a dip in the sea at Thorpe Bay, our beautiful City has so much to offer.

This partnership approach provided work opportunities to residents of Southend, with several team members returning to the City from University for their summer break. As explained by Lucy Pack;

“I really enjoyed working for SEPS over the summer. It included very flexible hours, and an enjoyable beach environment, whilst still earning money to help me out at university. Some days were more difficult than others, and having to deal with situations I’ve never been in before was certainly a challenge, however, this job has shown me I’m more capable than I believe, and has provided me with very valuable life skills for the future”.
