Grounds Maintenance - South Essex Homes

In July 2024, SEPS commenced a contract with our partner, South Essex Homes to deliver the entire Grounds Maintenance contract on all social housing land (186 sites in total), which included sheltered schemes and temporary accommodation sites. This contract saw the recruitment and onboarding of a new team. We focussed on our existing relationships with residents to ensure they felt they continued to be an integral part of the service and were able to feed back any issues to us directly. To date, this is some of the positive feedback we have received:

“A resident at Adams Elm House called to compliment Lisa and Lisa on their work on the garden and said they have done an amazing job"

“We have had the gardeners here today and they have mowed the lawns great and cut the hedges and two lovely ladies have done a wonderful job on the roses, flowers, etc in the front of the property.”

“A tenant has called in to state just how good a job the Gardening team did last week – Bradfordbury looks really nice again and she is grateful for this."

“Ty has been working on the mobilisation of the new Grounds Maintenance contract with SEPS. It has not been without its issues in terms of staff recruitment, staff training, equipment purchases, and he has organised for an early start to assist us to hit the ground running. Thank you, Ty, for all the hard work and working around the clock to get this on boarded"

This contract  has seen some inherited issued which we are resolving, which in part has been down to the introduction of a new monitoring system and inspection regime.

The contract includes the clearing of hedges and shrubs, litter picking, grass cutting, leaf removal, weed removal and maintain edges and entrances.

We are proud to play a small but significant role in ensuring Southend is an attractive and charming City, whilst delivering an efficient and quality grounds maintenance service.
